Athletics: Mississauga Marathon Scotiabank Charity Challenge Raises Over $145,000

Mississauga, ON – The Mississauga Marathon is proud to announce a grand total of $148,209.34 has been raised for all 22 local and national charities through the 2014 Mississauga Marathon Scotiabank Charity Challenge. By partnering with Scotiabank, the Mississauga Marathon fundraising has increased every year since the partnership began! “We are thrilled with the fundraising efforts from our participants as well as the interest from our family of charities. The tremendous success has us excited for the continued growth in the years to come” says Mississauga Marathon Scotiabank Charity Challenge Manager, Brody Coles.

On behalf of the Mississauga Marathon and Scotiabank, we would like to congratulate each and every charity involved for their great efforts and overall results. In addition, Scotiabank is generously donating $2,000 to the top charity in three categories. Congratulations to the following charities:

  • Team World Vision Canada- Most Fundraisers
  • Crohn’s and Colitis Canada- Mississauga Chapter- Highest amount of dollars raised
  • Canadian Red Cross- Highest donation average per fundraiser

The 22 charity partners that worked hard to earn these donations include: Art Gallery of Mississauga, Arthritis Research Foundation, Autism Ontario – Metro Toronto Chapter, CameronHelps, Canadian Red Cross, Colorectal Cancer Association of Canada, Community Living Mississauga, Crohn’s and Colitis Canada – Mississauga Chapter, GlobalMedic (on behalf of Ontario Clean Water Agency), Heart and Stroke Foundation, Heart House Hospice, Islamic Relief, MitoCanada Foundation, SickKids Foundation, Starlight Children’s Foundation of Canada, Sunnybrook Foundation, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, The Mississauga Food Bank, Trillium Health Partners Foundation, United Way of Peel Region, Wellspring Cancer Support Foundation and Team World Vision Canada.

The 2015 Mississauga Marathon Race Weekend is scheduled to take place from Friday, May 1st – Sunday, May 3rd and will continue to offer “A Run For Everyone”. Events will include: Full Marathon, Petrillo Law Relay Challenge, Recharge with Milk Half Marathon, Valeant Pharmaceuticals 10K, 10K Student Relay, Starbucks Hazel 5K and SUBWAY® Restaurants 2K Fun Run/Walk.
