Former Mississauga captain Casey Cizikas will be staying in Long Island New York as he has resigned with the Islanders on a 2-year $2 million contract.

Casey was selected by the Islanders in the 4th round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. The 2013-2014 season was his first full 82 game season with the Islanders after playing in 45 of 48 games during the shortened 2012-2013 season.

In 80 regular season games with the Islanders Casey set a career high for points, recording 6 goals and 10 assists. In 140 career regular season NHL games with New York he has recorded 12 goals and 23 assists, adding 2 goals and 2 assists in 6 playoff games.

Casey played his entire OHL career in Mississauga, leading the team to a Memorial Cup Finals appearance in 2011 when the tournament was hosted at the Hershey Centre.

In 4 seasons in Mississauga, Casey played 237 career regular season games recording 203 points (88 goals and 115 assists), adding an additional 45 points (18 goals and 27 assists) in 47 playoff games.

The Steelheads would like to congratulate Casey on his success in the NHL so far and wish him all the best as a member of the New York Islanders.
