Lightning Pull Plug on Power

December 14, 2014

December 13, 2014 – National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada) London Lightning

(MISSISSAUGA, Ontario) – Saturday night, at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga, the London Lightning defeated the Mississauga Power, 118-95. The Lightning now stand at 8-5.

“I felt like we executed the game plan well tonight. We upped the defensive intensity and we executed well on the offensive end,” said Head Coach Carlos Knox. “When the game is late and the opposing team is trying to make a comeback, we need to stay more poised, but overall I am excited about the effort that was put forth by our team tonight.”

Zane Johnson led the Lightning in scoring with 21 points. Marvin Phillips scored a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Emmanuel Little chipped in 20 points and six assists.

Omar Strong led all scorers with 31points.

The Lightning play their next home game on Thursday, December 18 against the Mississauga Power. Tip-off is 7:00 p.m. and tickets are available through the Budweiser Gardens Box Office.
