Mississauga-Halton CCAC honoured with awards

The Mississauga-Halton Community Care Access Centre (CCAC) was recently recognized with two Gold Hermes Creative Awards.

The organization — which co-ordinates in-home and community support services, information and referral and long-term care placement — earned the awards for its ‘Covering All The Bases Playbook’ and its ‘Covering All the Bases Internal Communications Campaign’ in support of its review by Accreditation Canada.

The ‘Covering All The Bases’ internal campaign offered baseball-themed activities that lifted staff above the daily routine to conquer the challenge of achieving exemplary status of accreditation. The ‘Playbook’ was a resource provided to all staff that outlined practical tips and information about priority processes and standards and have sample questions and answers.

Hermes Creative Awards is an international competition for creative professionals involved in the concept, writing and design of traditional materials and programs, as well as emerging technologies.

Entries come from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, graphic design shops, production companies, web and digital creators and freelancers.

The Mississauga-Halton CCAC’s entries were among 5,500 — only 21 per cent of which were honoured with a gold award.

“We are honoured and pleased to accept these awards for this inspirational and innovative campaign,” said Mississauga-Halton CCAC CEO Caroline Brereton. “Covering All The Bases demonstrates a high standard of excellence and serves as a benchmark for the industry.”
