A 31-year-old Mississauga nurse, charged last August with 52 fraud and theft-related charges, was arrested and charged with 12 additional offences this week.

The new charges are the result of an investigation in which an 84-year-old woman allegedly had her identity and credit cards compromised.

Halton police said the woman, a patient at Trillium Health Centre in Mississauga where the accused was working, allegedly had personal information comprised in January 2013.

Information came to light after a lengthy investigation that began last spring involving a registered practical nurse and Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital.

Det. Cst. Jeff Springstead said police began to investigate with Halton Healthcare Services after seven elderly women complained of jewelry and credit card information that was stolen.

Victor Manzo III was released on bail to appear in a Milton court on May 16.
