MISSISSAUGA — A Mississauga man is facing several charges after Peel Regional Police officers allegedly found drugs, ammunition and weapons inside a vehicle Friday (June 13) in Cooksville.

After pulling over a vehicle that police say was being driven in an “unsafe manner” near Hurontario and Dundas Sts, officers seized a sawed-off shotgun, ammunition, a replica revolver, expandable baton, pepper spray and cocaine.

The seizure was carried out by officers from Peel Police Strategic and Tactical Enforcement Policing (STEP), which is overseen by the force’s street crime gang unit.

Daniel Mochizuki, 24, of Mississauga has been charged with dangerous driving as well as a number of drug and firearm offences.

He made an appearance in a Brampton courtroom on Saturday and remains in custody.

His next appearance is scheduled for Monday.
