The Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Nova Scotia are investigating the sudden death of a Mississauga man who had been scuba diving in Cape Breton.

The body of John “Craig” Lowe, 41, was recovered in Dingwall-Aspy Bay on Saturday after authorities were contacted by the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre about a missing scuba diver.

Police say Lowe had been diving alone approximately 15 metres deep and about 300 metres from the shore line when he disappeared.

His body was recovered approximately 50 metres from his boat.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.

Lowe made regular appearances as a painting expert on the home renovation show Holmes on Homes.

Mike Holmes took to Twitter on Sunday to express his condolences to Lowe’s family.

Lowe was also the owner and operator of Lowe Painting.
