MISSISSAUGA, Ont. – Peel EMS say at least six people have minor injuries following a multivehicle pile up in Mississauga, Friday evening.

It happened just after 6 p.m. in the Dundas and Hurontario area. The accident sequence was triggered by a black SUV.

According to a Tweet from Peel Police, one vehicle drove into a store, and a light standard was knocked over. A total of 17 vehicles are said to be involved, including a transit bus.

Peel Const. George Tudos says the scene is “nothing like I’ve ever seen before.”

At least 15 other people are being evaluated by emergency crews.

680News listener Ricardo described the scene similar to something out of the video game Grand Theft Auto.

“It’s surrounded by many cruisers, tow trucks, fire department, emergency vehicles. There’s a bus involved. There’s at least 15 cars involved,” he said.

Anyone driving through the area is being told to expect delays.
